The Hartwick Huskys Water Show Ski Team — 60 Years of Family, Fun & Tradition
Entertaining audiences, building lifelong friendships, and growing the sport of water show skiing in NE Iowa
The Hartwick Huskys Water Show Ski Team is a nonprofit, volunteer‑run water show ski team dedicated to promoting the sport of water skiing while providing free, family‑friendly entertainment to our community. Each summer, the Huskys perform exciting, themed, hour‑long water ski shows on Friday evenings from June through August at Schram Park in Manchester.
Our Mission
Our mission is to teach and promote teamwork, communication, physical fitness, water safety, and showmanship through the sport of water show skiing. Since the beginning, the Huskys have believed that water skiing is a unique sport where age is not a barrier and families can truly participate together, creating memories that last a lifetime.
What We Do
The Huskys bring together athletic skill, creativity, and teamwork to entertain audiences all summer long. Our weekly shows highlight incredible talent on the water while offering a fun, welcoming atmosphere for spectators of all ages.
As a nonprofit organization, the Huskys host several creative “fun”draising events throughout the year to support our mission. These efforts help fund equipment, training, safety programs, and continued community involvement—ensuring our shows remain free and accessible to all.
Our Team & Ski Family
The Hartwick Huskys are proud to be a 100% volunteer‑driven organization made up of members of all ages and backgrounds. Our team includes families from communities across the region, including Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Central City, Coggon, Delhi, Delaware, Dyersville, Dubuque, Earlville, Farley, Hopkinton, Manchester, Monticello, New Vienna, Ryan, and surrounding areas.
Families from more than six different school districts come together as one team, forming lifelong friendships both on and off the water. Our youngest skiers are just 3 years old, while our most experienced members are 70+, proving that water skiing truly is a sport for all ages.
The Huskys are known for being more than a team—we are a family. We support one another, celebrate together, and proudly live by a simple truth: Once a Huskys, always a Huskys.
Competition & Excellence
In addition to performing weekly shows, the Huskys proudly compete each year at USA Water Ski–sanctioned tournaments, including Regionals and Nationals. With a long history of competitive success, the team now competes in Division 1, taking on some of the largest and most accomplished water show ski teams in the
nation.
A Legacy of Tradition
Rain or shine, hot or cold, the Huskys are always preparing for their next show or competition. Practices take place at Schram Park from May through September, with many members also skiing throughout the summer at Lake Delhi.
In 2025, the Hartwick Huskys proudly celebrate 60 years of water skiing, volunteerism, and community tradition. Today, we are honored to welcome our fourth generation of skiers, continuing a legacy built on family, dedication, and a shared love for the sport.
