All About the Hartwick Huskys Water Show Ski Team
The Hartwick Huskys is a non-profit, volunteer water show ski team that performs exciting, themed, hour-long shows on Friday evenings from June through August at Schram Park. Their performances highlight incredible talent and teamwork, providing free entertainment to the community all summer long. As a non-profit club, they host several "fun"draising events throughout the year to support their mission.
Each year, the Huskys travel to compete in two USA Waterski-sanctioned tournaments: Regionals and Nationals. They have a strong history of success, earning Division 2 Midwest Regional Championships in 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019, along with Division 2 National Championships in 2009, 2011, 2018, and 2019. Now competing in Division 1, the Huskys take on some of the largest and most competitive ski teams in the nation.
Rain or shine, hot or cold, the Huskys are always preparing for their next show or competition. Dedicated to their passion for skiing, they practice at Schram Park in Manchester from May through September on Mondays and Wednesdays, with many members also skiing all summer at Lake Delhi. Beyond competitions and performances, the team fosters lifelong friendships, bringing together members of all ages and backgrounds. The Huskys are proud to be celebrating 60 years in 2025!
More than just a ski team, the Huskys emphasize teamwork, communication, physical fitness, water safety, and showmanship. Water skiing is a sport where age is no barrier—families participate together, with skiers ranging from just 3 years old to over 70. Now welcoming their 4th generation of skiers, the Huskys continue to create lasting memories while sharing their love for the sport with the community.
